Sri Lanka: A paradise for nature lovers

The Ministry of Tourism has taken steps to promote Sri Lanka as an adventure and sports travel destination. The adventure and sporting tours will be arranged with the assistance of the private tour operators.

Sri Lanka is considered as being one of the most biodiverse areas in South Asia in fact has been recognised as a global diversity “hot spot”. Sri Lanka has various forms of parks and has the oldest protected areas system on record in the world.

Connaissance Hotel Management (Pvt.) Limited, a leading hotel and tour operator offers adventure, sports and eco-tourism in Sri Lanka.

“Our company had organised cricket, golf and water sports activities to attract more travelers,” Chairman of Connaissance Hotel Management (Pvt.) Limited Chandra Wickramasinghe said.

“Around 20 cricket clubs in Australia have already expressed their willingness to visit the island and it will be a great boom for Sri Lanka’s tourism,” he said.

“We have organised an international marathon race in Kandy this year as a programme for promoting sports tourism,” he added.
