Warm welcome for Chinese Premier in Sri Lanka

Chinese Prime Minister Zhu Rongji arrived in Sri Lanka Thursday evening on a three-day official visit. 

Rathnasiri Wickramanayake, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and other Cabinet Ministers received him at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake.

The Sri Lanka Army accorded a Guard-of-Honour to the visiting Premier and his entourage, which includes eight ministers including the Chinese Foreign Minister.

President Chandrika Kumaratunga is due to host a banquet in honour of Prime Minister Zhu Rongji later today.
