Prime Minister Zhu Rongji of the People’s Republic of China ceremonially unveiled a plaque today for a new international exhibition centre in Colombo.

The exhibition centre to be named after the late Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike, will be located adjoining the country's main international conference hall the BMICH. The Chinese government gifted it more than 25 years ago. Sri Lanka hosted the Non Aligned Summit at this centre in 1976.

Premier Zhu Rongji and a high-level delegation arrived Thursday on a three-day official visit to Sri Lanka.

Earlier Friday, Premier Zhu Rongji and President Kumaratunga were present at the signing of a new economic co-operation agreement between the two countries.
