“Lift proscription of LTTE” - TULF

The politbureau of the Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF), which met Wednesday, has urged the Government to terminate the proscription of the LTTE, a press release issued by the party’s head office said.

“The TULF observes that it is imperative that the hostilities be brought to an end and that negotiations between the Government and the LTTE in pursuance of the Norwegian initiative commence without delay,” the press release said.

The TULF stated that the escalation of hostilities would cause serious damage to the peace process and that the continuance of hostilities would result in the loss of precious young lives amongst the combatants on both sides.
