CBK and Ranil discuss Peace

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe met this afternoon and exchanged views on the ongoing peace process.

The Leader of the Opposition assured the President of the United National Party’s support for the peace process. The two parties also agreed that the Government and the UNP would engage in a constructive dialogue to carry the peace process forward.

The meeting came about hours after the UNP had handed over to Parliament a motion of no-confidence in the Government.
