“The Lodge” – ISO certification for environment managemnt

The Lodge in Habarana has received the ISO 14001 environmental management system certification.

The ISO 14001 environmental management system is meant to develop a systematic management approach to the environmental concerns of an organization. The goal of this approach is the continual improvement in environmental management.

The Lodge is the first hotel in Sri Lanka and the second in Asia to bag the environmental certificate. Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok was the first hotel to receive ISO 14001.

Established in 1981,Habarana Lodge is also ISO 9002 certified. “Habarana Lodge is the first hotel in Asia to achieve both ISO 14001 and ISO 9002,” a spokesman for the Lodge said.

The Lodge is member of the John Keells Group.
