5^th Asian Netball Championship next week in Colombo

Sri Lanka will host the 5^th Asian Netball Championship from 23^rd to 29^th July 2001, at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The Championship is held every four years. Teams from Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, Thailand and Sri Lanka will vie for the honours this year.

“The country has taken an active role in netball for 79 years and it is an honour for us to be able to host this Championship, especially since we are the defending champions and have won the event twice in its sixteen year history,” said Mrs. Tamara Dharmakeerthi Herath, the head of the organising committee.
