Two civilians were killed and seven others were wounded in a crossfire between the Army and the LTTE in Kinniadi in Valachchenai Saturday. According to Army sources the Kinniadi detachment came under heavy terrorist gunfire and rebels have taken up positions in the vicinity. The wounded have been admitted to the Valachchenai Hospital.
