SriLankan Cargo advances to ‘Skychain’
[August 31, 2001 - 6:00 GMT]

SriLankan Airlines will switch over to ‘SriLankan Skychain’ - a more advanced cargo operations system, from September 1.

Skychain is a powerful operational tool, which incorporates the entire supply chain from reservations to delivery.

All SriLankan Cargo offices and its customers worldwide will use this modern facility.

SriLankan Skychain will offer customers an interactive facility including booking, tracking and tracing cargo, communicating online and the facility of checking flight schedules.

SriLankan Skychain will enable all parties in the manufacturing and distributing industry such as manufacturers, agents, buyers, business houses and custom brokers to access the system and be informed of the status when consignments move through the supply chain.

Emirates Sky Cargo, the cargo arm of SriLankan’s strategic partner Emirates has used its version of Sky Chain since 1989.
