Commonwealth Secretary-General to visit Sri Lanka

The Commonwealth Secretary-General, Don McKinnon, will visit Sri Lanka and India as part of his bilateral consultations in the run-up to this year's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Brisbane, Australia on 6-9 October 2001.

McKinnon will be in Sri Lanka from 11-12 September and is scheduled to meet President Chandrika Kumaratunga, Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake and Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar, a Foreign Ministry source said.
