Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar in an interview with state television said that discussions were on between the Government and Norway about the most effective way of moving the peace process forward. “We prefer to give a little time to see what developments are taking place in the country,” he said, before a cessation of hostilities could be agreed with the LTTE. He made particular reference to the initiative currently being taken by the business community to get the Government and the LTTE to the negotiating table.
