SriLankan Airlines and Ceylon Tourist Board confirmed that none of the staff in their offices at the World Trade Centre were injured in Tuesday’s terrorist attacks.

According to officials in Colombo, staff in the two offices had been on their way to work when the attack took place.

The Sri Lankan Airline office employs eight Sri Lankans while the Ceylon Tourist Board has six Sri Lankans in the New York offices.

Meanwhile, newspapers in Colombo reported today that a Sri Lankan woman and her American husband were killed when the hijacked plane crashed into the WTC.

They are reported to have been on United Airlines flight 175 from Boston to Los Angeles, which crashed into the south tower.
