The First Asean global alliance of banking plans to open its Asian headquarters in Colombo. The Colombo office will be the headquarters of the offices situated in Delhi, Bombay, Hyderabad, Singapore and Malaysia. The establishment of the headquarters will enable Sri Lanka to opbtain more services to the Small and Medium Enterprises without incurring the cost of setting up a physical presence in Europe. It will enable SMEs to seek private funding in Europe for growth and apply for institutional funding, venture, capital or find strategic partners, seek floatation on a recognised exchange or access investment opportunities in Europe. First Asean is a global alliance of international banks, e-commerce and trading companies, financial institutions and professional advisors in Europe who will provide services to the Sri Lankan Small and Medium Enterprises using internet and telecommunication technology.
