The fourth Apex Body Meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Corporation [SAARC] Diploma Engineers Forum [SDEF] will be held on 17-18 November 2001. The meeting in Colombo is being organised by the Institute of Incorporated Engineers, Sri Lanka [IIESL]. The seven member countries of SAARC will participate in this meeting to discuss the theme, “Obligations of the Incorporated Engineers towards the society in poverty alleviation in his or her own country.” The forum will open the doors for an exchange of views, experiences and transfers of technologies. There are 1.2 million Diploma Engineers in the SAARC region. The IIESL has 2,000-members.
