Digital art exhibition in Sri Lanka
[October 17, 2001 - 10:25 GMT]

The Artlink, a digital art exhibition, will take place in Sri Lanka on September 20 and 21. The exhibition will feature the creative skills of artists from France, Germany and England.

This event has been held annually for the last five years with the participation of both foreign and Sri Lankan artists. Previous events have seen fascinating displays in mediums such as sculpture, installation and two-dimensional work.

“The use of digital technology in artwork is the key feature in the 2001 exhibition,” an organiser of the event said.

The focus of this work will be the town of Dambulla, its people and the surrounding country. There will be an exhibition in Dambulla, on the last day of the camp, and a later exhibition at the Barefoot Gallery in Colombo.

The event is organised by the British Council, the Alliance Française, the Goethe Institut and the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts.
