Sri Lanka is offering free airline tickets and free hotel accommodation as part of an aggressive tourist promotion drive. ‘Buy one, get one free’ is the slogan for the special tourist promotion campaign, which offers many attractive features for foreign holidaymakers for inward travel between November 1 and December 20. The Ceylon Tourist Board, Sri Lankan Airlines, 65 hotels and 47 tour operators are involved in this attractive offer by the Lankan travel industry. Sri Lankan Airlines will offer a free ticket with every ticket purchased for travel to Sri Lanka between 15th October and 30th November 2001 for flights originating from London, Paris, Zurich, Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. “We know that tourists will be out here in strong numbers (during this period) and this promotion is to stimulate it further,” Renton de Alwis, Chairman of the Ceylon Tourist Board said.
