Sri Lankan among new Managing Directors at Goldman Sachs

Goldman Sachs Group Inc., a global investment banking company has appointed Arun M. Gunewardena as one of its new Managing Directors.

Gunawardena, a director of the company for the last seven years will become a Managing Director of the group from December 1 2001.

Commenting on the announcement, Henry M. Paulson, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said: "We congratulate our new Managing Directors, who represent a broad cross-section of the businesses and markets in which we compete. Their talent and leadership will contribute to and drive the firm's future success." 

Gunawardena has been a Director of the company for the last seven years.
