A high powered Pakistan trade delegation which was in Colombo recently held discussions with the members of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) to identify areas of cooperation, which will be beneficial to both the countries. Led by Tariq Ikram, Minister of State and Chairman, Export Promotion Bureau of Pakistan the delegation was looking ways of promoting bilateral trade including exports, imports, joint ventures, services and cooperation at government and private level. Three Memoranda of Understanding were also signed between East West Foods Ltd., Colombo and Metco Rice, Karachi; Mackwoods Ltd., Colombo and ACTO Laboratory, Karachi and Mat and Gyn Ltd., Colombo and Jawa Motorcycles, Karachi. These MOUs will encourage, promote and facilitate effective cooperation with regard to trade, economic and industrial activities between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
