Chung Cheng Fishery Enterprises (Pvt.) Ltd., Singapore will commence a new fish processing plant in Sri Lanka with a proposed capacity of 12,000 metric tons per year.

The project involves handling of processed frozen cargo from source to cold storage, to production and finally to the commercial-end user at –50 to –60 Celsius.

A fish-canning factory will be set up under the second phase of the project.

The project will also set up a flake ice plant and will make ice available to local fishermen.
