Japanese grant for Tower Hall

The Government of Japan has granted a sum of Rs. 34 million to the historic Tower Hall to commemorate the 50^th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Japan.

This fund will be utilized to supply state of the art audio and lighting equipment required for the efficient functioning of the of the Tower Hall Theatre built in 1911.

Along with economic cooperation, Japan has been providing cultural grant aid to Sri Lanka since 1979.
