Decroos plays in Colombo

Music
lovers in Sri Lanka will get the rare opportunity to hear Jean Decroos - a
world-class cellist and soloist of the Royal
Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam at the Lionel Wendt Theatre
Monday.
Starting
his musical career in 1955, Decroos was appointed first cellist of the
Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1962.
A
co-founder of the famous ‘Guarneri Trio’, Jean
Decroos has recorded seventeen piano trios, the latest being the five
by Brahms. He plays on a very precious ‘Giovanni-Baptista Rogeri’.
The
next concert will be on February 22 at The
Galle Face Hotel.
