Music lovers in Sri Lanka will get the rare opportunity to hear Jean Decroos - a world-class cellist and soloist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam at the Lionel Wendt Theatre Monday.
Starting his musical career in 1955, Decroos was appointed first cellist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1962.
A co-founder of the famous ‘Guarneri Trio’, Jean Decroos has recorded seventeen piano trios, the latest being the five by Brahms. He plays on a very precious ‘Giovanni-Baptista Rogeri’.
The next concert will be on February 22 at The Galle Face Hotel.
