ADB to assist poverty reduction

The Government and the Asian Development Bank signed a four-pronged Poverty Reduction Partnership Program yesterday.

The ADB will donate USD 200 million for poverty reduction annually.

The program, which has been targeted for the period 2002 to 2015, is expected to reduce poverty from present 40 percent to 20 percent during the period.
