“Wider participation of women every sector a must”-PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe in a message to mark the International Women’s Day has said “It is vital to have wider participation of women in every sector”

“But women’s participation in the field of politics which concerns taking vital decisions on the future of the country is very low, due to various socio-economic factors”, the Premier added.

The Prime Minister said that the government is committed  to increase women’s participation in politics.
