President appoints Constitutional Council

President Chandrika Kumaratunga has appointed seven members to the Constitutional Council in terms of Articles 41A (d) and 41A (5) of the Constitution. 

Mr. H. L. de Silva was appointed under Article 41A(d) of the Constitution while the following were appointed in terms of Article 41A(5). Justice (Dr.) A. R. B. Amarasinghe, Justice Lakshman Weerasekara, Justice M. Jameel, Mr. T. Sundaralingam, Mr. Ramalingam Chakrawarthy Karunakaran and Mr. S. S. Wijeratne.
