The Great Western Estate; Talawakelle, has become the first estate in the country to receive the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification, the world’s most stringent food safety standard.

A spokesperson for the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) said that the HACCP certification provides an internationally accepted guarantee on food hygiene.

Sri Lanka Standard Institution recently awarded the certification after a stringent analysis of systems adopted by Great Western Estate in the production of tea.
