Yamato Drummers to perform in Colombo

The world-renowned Wadaiko Yamato Drummers will perform in Colombo this month to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Japan.

The event will be held at the John de Silva Memorial Theatre in Colombo on 7^th and 8^th April.

Sri Lanka is the first destination of the troupe’s “Spirit Tour in South Asia 2002” which includes performances in India, Pakistan and India. 

The co-sponsors are the Japan Foundation and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. 

Yamato founded by Masaaki Ogawa in 1993 in Nara, a city where Japanese culture is believed to have started has given more than 800 performances all over the world.
