President to deliver Madhava Rao Memorial Lecture

President Chandrika Kumaratunga will visit India this weekend to deliver the Madhava Rao Memorial lecture in New Delhi. “She will speak on democracy and conflict resolution,” Presidential Spokesman Harim Peiris said.

During this visit President Kumaratunga is expected to meet Indian President K.R. Narayanan, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister I. K. Gujral, Opposition Leader Sonia Gandhi and Minister of External Affairs and Defence Jaswant Singh.
