PM leaves for the US

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe will leave for the United States tonight, a Foreign Ministry source said. 

The Premier is scheduled to meet President George W Bush and is also expected to have discussions with top US officials including Secretary of State Colin Powell. 

The United States has been strongly in support of a negotiated settlement of the conflict in Sri Lanka.
