Air Force aircraft crashes on test flight

A Sri Lankan Air Force Y-8 training aircraft on a test flight crashed near the southern beach resort of Kalutara just past noon Thursday.

“There had been an engine fire in one of the five engines,” Air Force spokesman Wing Commander W. M. A. R. Wijesundara said.

The fate of the crew of five was not confirmed at the time of writing.
