[August 26, 2002  - 11.00 GMT]

Sri Lanka and Jordan have signed an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation of Income derived from international air transport.

This Agreement aims at determining the position with regard to the taxation of profits for both Royal Jordanian Airlines and SriLankan Airlines.

“This Agreement will promote and strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries and it will increase international traffic of passengers and goods, which will ultimately benefit the two countries,” a Foreign Ministry press release said.
