As agreement to build mutual trust between the Tamil-speaking people of Sri Lanka was reached at a meeting between LTTE and Muslim representatives, in Trincomalee yesterday.

The meeting was held to try to restore peace after several days of serious unrest and communal violence between Tamils and Muslims in the Muttur area on the East coast of Sri Lanka.

It was further decided to make every effort to ensure that the Tamil and Muslim peoples should live together free of fear and suspicion. They also decided to continue close contact with each other to achieve and sustain the agreement.
