Opposition legislators want Tokyo Donor Confab to go ahead

The main opposition in Parliament the People’s Alliance today said that the Tokyo conference must proceed as scheduled with or without LTTE’s participation.

“Tokyo conference is a consortium of aid given to Sri Lanka, so there is no reason to postpone or cancel the conference in the event of LTTE not attending it,” PA spokesman Sarath Amunugama said at a press briefing.
