26th
Asian Junior Chess Championship in Colombo

The
Chess Foundation of Sri Lanka will hold the prestigious 26th Asian Junior
Chess Championship from July 18 to 22 at the Camelot Beach Hotel in Negombo.
This
will be the third international chess event to be held in Sri Lanka within a
period of three years. Alongside the Asian championship Sri Lanka has been
selected to hold the World Chess seminar as well.
Kazakhstan,
Iran, Australia, India Bangladesh, Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong,
Malaysia, and host Sri Lanka are the countries that have confirmed their
participation and the organisers will be entertaining entries until July 25
with the idea of promoting chess in the Asian region.
