The tale of tigers, lions and ales

Many Sri Lankan business enterprises are lobbying for a slot in the new market place opening up with the ongoing peace process.   Already banks, telecommunications, etc have established themselves in LTTE controlled areas now opened for trade albeit the conditions.

It is reported that just one of Sri Lanka’s premier breweries viz The Lion Breweries Ceylon Limited, has been given the opportunity to market their product. This is despite the fact that earlier the LTTE had banned the distribution of alcoholic beverages in the East.
