Duration    06 months to 01 year
Placements  Study/training course in internationally reputed Training Institutes

All applicants should be proficient in English.  The applicants, depending on their eligibility, can send in applications under more than one category.  If they so desire separate applications should be submitted for each category.   Photostat copies of applications forms will not be accepted.  Since, application forms for categories No. 6, 7 and 8 differ from other categories, applicants should clearly indicate the category when requests are made. The words "Presidential Scholarships" should be printed on the top left hand of the envelope.

Application forms will be issued only from the President's Office on a written request along with a non -refundable Money Order for Rs. 150/-  drawn in favour of the "President's Fund" stating the paying office as Colombo.  Requests sent by post should include a self-addressed stamped envelope 9" x 4" for each application.

Closing date for applications is 30th September, 2003.  Any applications received thereafter will be rejected.  State sector employees should send their applications recommended by the Heads of the Institutions.

After applications are received they will be processed and those eligible will be summoned for an interview by special panels.
