 President
Chandrika Kumaratunga in a message to her Chinese counterpart Hu Jinto said
China has achieved great success over the last half-century, not only
respect of the welfare of its people but also in the role it has played in
international relations.
Today,
China marks the 54th anniversary of the 1949 founding of the
People's Republic of China.
“The
deep bonds of traditional friendship between our two countries have stood
the test of time and change,” Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe said in
his message to the Chinese Premier, Wen Jiabao.
