President on state visit to Singapore

President Kumaratunga is to leave for Singapore on a state visit over the weekend. During her stay in Singapore she will attend the East Asia Economic Summit 2003 conducted by the World Economic Forum, October 12-14. The theme of the Forum this year is Asia’s Future: Recapturing Dynamism.

The President will hold discussions with Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and will call on her Singaporean counterpart S.R. Nathan. President Kumaratunga will also meet Senior Minister Lee Kwan Yew.

President Kumaratunga is being accompanied by a high-level Sri Lankan business delegation and will meet with the Singaporean business community on the sidelines of the summit.
