Kadirgamar hopeful English cricket tour will be on

Lakshman Kadirgamar the former Foreign Minister today was optimistic about the upcoming English cricket tour. Himself a former cricketer Kadirgamar said he was looking forward to the test and one day series and the balmy army of English supporters.

“I have no doubt it will take place and there have been situations of this kind before and visits of this kind have gone on. I hope very much that there will be no disturbance”, he said replying a query whether there would be any political hindrances affecting the tour.

The England team is scheduled to arrive in Colombo on November 13 for a three Test and a one-day series.
