Akashi on follow-up mission

Japanese special envoy Yasushi Akashi will be in Sri Lanka today for a seven-day visit to review the country’s peace process.

He will chair the second follow-up meeting of the "Tokyo Donor's Conference on Reconstruction and Development of Sri Lanka" on Friday January 23, 2004.

During his 6th visit to the country he is scheduled to call on President Chandrika Kumaratunga, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and will also meet LTTE representatives in Kilinochchi.
