New head for SLMM

Retired Major General Trond Furuhovde has been re-appointed as Head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) from February 1, 2004. Furuhovde served as the first Head of the SLMM from its establishment in March 2002 till February 2003.

 

Trond Furuhovde served as an advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway on issues relating to the Sri Lankan peace process.

Furuhovde replaces retired Maj. Gen. Tryggve Tellefsen who has been appointed Head of Mission of the Temporary International Presence in the City of Hebron starting February 1, 2004.
