Inaugural UPFA rally today

The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) the new political group formed earlier this month, as a result of a pact between the SLFP and the JVP, will hold its inaugural rally at the Town Hall grounds, Colombo this afternoon.

The UPFA is expected to make its policy statement public at today’s rally which is expected to draw a very large crowd. President Kumaratunga’s statement is to be read out at the rally where key appointments in the UPFA are due to be made.
