Diplomats call on new PM

Indian High Commissioner Nirupam Sen called on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse at his residence in Torrington Square, Colombo, Tuesday April 6, 2004.

The Indian High Commissioner was the first diplomat to meet the new Prime Minister, who took his oaths the same morning. They discussed ways and means to further strengthen Indo- Lanka ties.

Meanwhile American Ambassador Jeffrey Lunstead is due to call on the Premier today.
