The Ministry of Education will come down hard on schools levying fees from school children for various activities such as memberships of societies, school development functions and GCE A\L classroom funds.

According to an Education Ministry release some parents are compelled to make these payments even though they cannot afford to do so.

The Ministry will issue fresh instructions to this regard to reiterate this position as regulations set by the Ministry prohibits Principals from levying such fees under any pretext.
