President sends condolences on former President’s death

President Chandrika Kumaratunga sent condolences on the death of Ronald Reagan, former President of the United States of America.

On behalf of the Sri Lankan Government Foreign Minster Lakshman Kadirgamar signed the condolence book, which was opened yesterday, June 8 at the US Embassy, Colombo in memory of the late President Reagan.

“The Government of Sri Lanka pays tribute to the memory of a great statesman who served well the interests of his own country and the cause of democracy everywhere”, the Minister wrote.
