Government donation for slain student’s family

On a suggestion by the President Chandrika Kumaratunga the Cabinet has decided to donate a sum of five hundred thousand rupees to the next of kin of late Samapath W. Bandara.

Banadara, a third year Arts student of the University of Sri Jayawardenepura was allegedly killed by a group of fellow undergrads, Saturday June 5. Labour Minister Athauda Seneviratna has been tasked with making the donation to the immediate family of the late undergraduate.
