Solheim back in the island

Norwegian special envoy Erik Solheim arrived in the island on a four day visit yesterday for discussions with the Government and the LTTE.

According to a Norwegian Embassy communiqué he is scheduled to meet President Kumaratunga, members of the government, representatives of the opposition as well as with the civil society.

Solheim and Ambassador Hans Brattskar will travel to Killinochchi for consultations with the LTTE’s Political Wing leader S. P. Thamilchelvam tomorrow, Wednesday, June 30.
