Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Chancellor of Germany Joschka Fischer will arrive in Sri Lanka on Saturday, July 17, on a two-day visit. The Minister will be accompanied by a delegation of senior officials, Parliamentarians and businessmen. The German Foreign Minister’s visit is part of a 10 day tour to India, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The visiting Minister will pay courtesy calls on the President and the Prime Minister and meet with the Sri Lankan FM, Lakshman Kadirgamar with whom he will hold bilateral talks. He will also meet the leader of the Opposition during his visit. Mr. Fischer
has been the German Foreign Minister since October 1998.
