The Central Bank of Sri Lanka will soon issue Sri Lanka Heritage Series currency notes of Rupees 1,000, 500, 50 and 10 and denominations bearing the date 2004.04.10. According to a Central Bank communiqué issued yesterday these notes will bear the serial prefixes and numbers G/131000001 onwards in respect of Rs. 1,000, H/87000001 onwards in respect of Rs. 500, K/190000001 onwards in respect of Rs. 50 and M/347190001 onwards in respect of Rs. 10. “The news notes will be circulated along with the existing notes in circulation. The notes will be legal tender in Sri Lanka and a liability of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka” Central Bank said.
