Prof. Chandima Wijebandara new J’pura VC

President Chandrika Kumaratunga appointed Prof. Chandima Wijebandara as new Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura for a three-year period with effect from July 27, 2004.

The President has made this appointment in terms of powers vested in her under the Universities Act on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission.

Prof. Wijebandara, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts was the Acting Vice Chancellor of the university since December 2003.
