President leaves to address the UNGA

President Chandrika Kumaratunga left for the United States today to address the 59th Sessions of the United Nations General Assembly.

Minister Rantansiri Wickremanayake will act as Minister of Defence during her absence. The President’s other three Cabinet portfolios will be administered till her return by Minister Mangala Samaraweera -School Education, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena - Higher Education and Minister D E W Gunasekara - Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Reconciliation.
